should i use the additional info section
the optional box on the common app. my school switched to block scheduling junior year and i couldn't take AP bio because of it. worth mentioning? i don't want it to look like i'm making excuses

Use it for facts the rest of the application cannot show: an illness or family situation that affected grades, a school schedule that limited courses, a job or caregiving responsibility, a change of schools. Keep it short, factual and calm: what happened, when, and what changed.
Do not use it for another essay or a list of activities that did not fit. Leaving it blank is completely fine if you have nothing to add.
