1350 SAT, submit or go test optional?
3.9 UW, 1350 SAT (680 RW, 670 M). Applying to Northeastern, BU, Villanova, Fordham. Everyone says only submit if it's high but nobody says what high means.

Compare it to each school's middle 50%, which you can find in the Common Data Set (section C9) or on its admissions site. The usual rule of thumb: if you are at or above the 25th percentile of enrolled students who submitted, submitting is often reasonable. If you are below it, test optional usually reads better.
At those four schools a 1350 sits below the typical submitter range at most of them, so test optional is probably the stronger call for this list. Two other things:
1. Some selective schools have gone back to requiring scores. Check every school's current policy, not last year's.
2. If you still have a test date before deadlines, one more attempt with focused prep can be worth it.
