UC transfer acceptance rates for every California community college
How many transfer applicants from each California community college every UC campus admitted in fall 2025, how that has moved over ten years, and the rates by major.
SourceUniversity of California Information Center, fall 2016 to fall 2025; University of California Information Center, fall 2025.

The community college matters less than the campus
In fall 2025, 36,017 students applied to transfer to UC from 115 California community colleges, and 76.6% of them were admitted to at least one campus. The campus decides most of the odds: UCLA admitted 26.5% of community college applicants and Berkeley 25.0%.
Among the 58 colleges that sent UCLA 100 or more applicants, the admit rate ran from 14.4% at Riverside City College to 36.1% at Los Angeles Pierce College. A college’s rate reflects the students it sends and the majors they choose as much as the college itself, so we read it as a sign of how well-worn the path from that college is.

Transfer admit rates by race and ethnicity
Every California community college added together, fall 2025, at UCLA.
UC blanks a group at a college when it is small, so these add up only the colleges where UC printed both numbers of each rate. Groups with fewer than 20 such applicants at a campus are left off. “Not stated” is UC’s “Domestic unknown”.
Transfer admit rates by major, fall 2025
The same fall from UC’s transfers-by-major table, for every major a campus reported. These count transfer applicants from every kind of school, not only community colleges, and include the middle half of admitted transfer GPAs.

UC’s table has a filter it does not label, T_CD, set to 2 by default. We tested its values: 2 holds the fall counts, while 3 and 4 hold a few hundred mid-year admissions at a handful of campuses and nothing for fall 2025. So these are fall 2025 numbers. UC marks some GPA ranges as redacted for small groups; those show as not published. Transfer GPA is self-reported on the application.
What is not here: transfer GPA by college
UC publishes a view meant to show the average GPA of transfer applicants, admits and enrollees from each community college. On UC’s own server that view is empty today, for every year we tried, so we cannot show GPA by college and we have not estimated it. The closest public number is the admitted GPA range by major in the table above, which counts transfers from every kind of school.
How we built this page
We downloaded UC’s transfer table for every campus and every fall from 1994 to 2025, fall term only, California community colleges only. Before downloading we checked that each filter really changes UC’s answer, because UC’s data tool quietly ignores a filter it does not recognize and returns its default year instead. The trend on this page covers the last ten falls.
Any UC campus counts a student admitted to at least one campus once. Enrollees are students who enrolled at that campus in the fall. Rates add up only the colleges where UC printed both numbers.

We downloaded these files ourselves and computed every figure on this page from them. Where a publisher left a value blank for privacy, we left it blank too.
