my alumni interview went terribly

i blanked on why this school and talked about minecraft for like 10 minutes. please tell me it's not over

Not over. At most schools, alumni interviews carry little weight compared with your transcript, essays and letters, and many applicants who are admitted had interviews they thought went badly.

Send a short thank-you email to the interviewer. If you want, add one sentence on what you would have said about why the school appeals to you. Then let it go.

Also, talking about something you love for ten minutes is not a bad sign. Interviewers often remember the student who was genuinely excited.
