Does where you live affect Princeton admissions?
A Princeton file account on regional context, and how to explain your community's opportunities and limits without assuming geography decides an admission.
SourceBased on what we at Aristo learned from Princeton admissions files that students saw, reported by the Daily Princetonian.

Princeton's regional admissions officers can move an application up for reasons that never appear on a transcript, and files students obtained in 2015 show it happening. That year a wave of Princeton students used their federal privacy rights to see their admission files, and the Daily Princetonian reported what they found. One student's file showed two readers. The first noted that she described herself as shy and quiet. The second, her regional officer, moved her up to admit, calling her neat and ambitious and adding one more observation.
That last observation is the one worth studying, because it rewards something many applicants either hide or never think to mention.
