Got into my top choice in December, now I have a C in AP Calc and a D in physics. Can they rescind?
My friends say colleges never actually rescind anyone unless you get arrested or something. Is that true or should I be worried? Semester ends in 5 weeks.

It is not true. Colleges do rescind admission over a significant drop in senior grades, and admission letters usually say the offer depends on continued academic performance. A D is the kind of grade that gets attention.
What to do:
1. Talk to both teachers now about what you can still do this semester.
2. If something is going on (health, family, a job), tell your counselor.
3. If your final grades will be noticeably lower, contact the college's admissions office proactively. A short explanation before they see the transcript goes much better than silence. Colleges are far more forgiving of a dip with an explanation than one they discover on their own.
