Grades
Does UC verify self-reported grades?
Why the grades you self-report on the UC application must match your transcript, where errors usually creep in and what to do if you discover a mistake later.
SourceBased on what we at Aristo learned from UCLA's admissions office and former UC admissions readers.

The University of California reads applicants on the strength of grades they enter themselves, and UCLA's admissions office has described how that record gets checked. UC does not ask for a transcript when you apply; it asks you to type every course and grade from ninth grade on, and readers treat what you type as the academic record.
Families often handle that section as paperwork, filled in late at night and partly from memory, and an honest slip there can cost more than any single grade could. Readers see the entries as the record. The university sees them as a promise, and it has said plainly what follows when the promise turns out to be wrong.
