Brown video introduction: what to say in 90 seconds
How to plan Brown's optional 90-second video introduction around a specific interest or experience that adds something your essays do not, at a natural pace.
SourceBased on what we at Aristo learned from Brown's admissions office.

Brown's admissions office encourages first-year applicants to submit a personal video introduction of no more than 90 seconds, and describes it as a way to learn about the applicant directly, in their own voice, beyond what the rest of the application says. The video is optional, and Brown says the format ensures equity across its pool, a phrase that hints at what the office values: anyone with a phone can make one.
Many students are unsure what to do with a minute and a half of camera time, and the temptation is to treat it like every other part of the application, which is the surest way to waste it. Brown's own rules show what the office is listening for, and those rules are unusually specific.
